What would life look like if viewed from an eternal perspective…not figuratively but literally?
“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33 (ESV)
If you want to get a really strong feel for what I am talking about, read all of Matthew 6:10-34 or even all of chapters 5 and 6. The Kingdom of Heaven looks so different from the kingdom of earth.
Please understand what I am saying. I know you need many things. I know you get hungry and thirsty. I know you get cold and need clothing. I even know that the type of clothing you need varies by season, style, and industry. These details aren’t lost on Me. I want you to have what you need in this world. I simply want you to look at your life from the perspective of it being spiritually based first with a physical experience rather than physically based first within a future spiritual experience. Eternity is much longer than the physical time you are on earth so it deserves some attention, not just from the perspective of going to the eternal as soon as you leave the physical. They are interconnected. Eternity is now.
What does this look like on a daily basis? Let Me show you. As you get up in the morning, imagine you are in the heavens with Me. Imagine sitting next to Me having a cup of coffee and simply starting our day off by talking about something. It may be something you are expecting for the day or it may simply be Me sharing something with you about Me or about the world or about your day. If you have kids that wake you up, simply do this when you can in your day.
As you problem-solve or think through an issue or challenge or as you look for an opportunity in front of you try to recognize that, first, you are part of a spiritual body that has a physical experience. Experience the limitlessness of the spiritual body and see what is there. Wait for a moment longer than you think possible and then you can talk to Me about the physical limitations that go along with what I am showing you – then I can show you how to navigate what feel like limitations but are actually not.
When I say to store up treasures in heaven (Matthew 6:20), some of our greatest treasures are time together. I am sure that some of your greatest treasures on this earth are memories of the times you spent with people. It may be as significant as the birth of a child or as simple as sitting on a porch swing with someone who you like. Some of My greatest treasures are My memories of our time together. I love you dearly. That is why I am here writing to you. Come sit on the porch swing next to Me and we will build up treasures in heaven together.
