One day God woke me up very early and shared with me that He wanted to send out 6 foundational messages to business leaders…one per day for 6 days. Here is the 4th of 6.
“Your businesses 1, 2, 5, and 10-year Plan”
The trust that is required of My people is tremendous. The only way you can trust Me to the degree necessary to fear Me and do My commands is to really understand the deep and complete love I have for you. I am not a harsh and testing God. I do harsh things sometimes as a way to pull people back to Me and I test to strengthen and “harden” My people in the ways of the Kingdom but, there is so much more that is so much more important.
Look at Leviticus 25:2-7. The Israelites were required to trust Me to such a degree that they would allow their land to rest for an entire year. They knew I could provide for them because every single week they ate manna for 6 days and gathered twice as much on the 6th day so they did not need to gather anything on the sabbath. This was a reminder to them that I would take care of them. This is why the sabbath is so important. It is to show you that I can take care of you even when you do not work for a day.
Then, we built upon that trust and I asked them to tend their land for 6 years and leave it for the 7th. This way they could experience and understand the truth that I am the one that provides for them all of the time. They plant the seed but I cause it to grow.
In the work you are doing, do you believe you are causing the work to be fruitful and to multiply? Do you believe that it is by your strength and might that you are succeeding or failing?
Turn to Me in a way that you can only do if you truly trust Me. If you don’t trust Me this way, then ask Me to put this trust inside of you.
The next season of success and abundance in this world is going to be very much associated with the trust of the Lord. It will be given to those who lay aside their “self” and hold onto Me. But don’t be sad about this. I know this brings sadness to many because you love to do things, experience things, control things and make things happen. The world tells you this is the definition of success.
“But take heart, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NIV
Remember who to trust…
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10 NASB
The world tells you that you need to be in control, this is the thief stealing from you. The world tells you that you have to make a 10 year plan and then follow through on it, this is the thief stealing from you. The world tells you to find your purpose and meaning in your life and work, this is the thief stealing from you.
I tell you that I love you, this is Me giving you abundant life. I tell you that I made you in My image and that I want you to be like Me (Genesis 1:26), this is Me giving you abundant life. I tell you that you will do even greater things than Jesus (John 14:12), this is Me giving you abundant life.
So many in business want a 1, 2, 5, and 10-year plan. Here is an awesome 10-year plan you can break down into smaller goals if you want.
Count others as better than yourself.
“Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.” Philippians 4:2-3 NLT
When working with customers and employees, pay attention to their needs more than your own needs and allow Me to take care of your needs.
Do all that you do to the Lord.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24 NIV
When doing anything, remember that I live inside of you and we are doing this together. Your strength and energy comes from Me, not from you. Make choices that glorify Me and that you know I will be proud of you for making. Don’t fudge on your finances, your taxes, your profits! We all see it and we all know it and it causes you to live a life that is being stolen from you. Be honest and generous, this is how you experience abundant life. Trust Me so much that you will be honest and generous in all your dealings.
Don’t set a 10-year business focused goal, instead, ask for your daily bread and ask Me to increase the desires of your heart. I have a specific 10-year goal in mind for you. Trust Me to hold it for you. Let’s walk together to get there. Let Me hold your goals for you. Mine are SOOOOO much better than you can ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20)
You don’t have to proclaim Me to the world in order to be serving Me. The heavens declare my glory and they never say anything at all, they simply do what I have created them to do. Let your life, fully devoted to Me, speak loudly and then, when I give you the words to say to someone, say them.
Be My children and let Me love you as fully as I love you. Let Me take care of you and care for you. Let Me work through you and let Me give you the energy you need to accomplish your daily tasks.
Yes, I know you are overwhelmed. That is the state of the world at this moment in time. There is one answer…let Me be your energy, your drive, your desire. Sow seeds and let Me harvest them. Ask Me for what you need and want and come walk with Me in the garden in the cool of the day (Genesis 3:8). I will take care of you. I promise!
