Last night I felt the presence of God.
It was amazing, fullness of peace, a heaviness of His presence

His presence remained powerfully for a few minutes and as it began to lift He said, “I will still be here, but the experience will be more subtle”

I asked why He came tonight to share His presence with me so powerfully.

His response…..
“because you asked me to.”

I remembered, earlier that morning I asked for exactly that…
to experience His presence

It was like a major epiphany of something so basic it is almost embarrassing.
…He does what we ask Him to do.

Processing this with Him this morning He said
“Notice what you ask for”
“Notice what you ask for”
“Notice what you ask for”

“Be strongminded
with faith
Not being tossed around”
(Similar to James 1:5-8)

“When you ask for something
and then wonder or doubt
it dilutes the request
this is why the verse in James is true”

“Ask for what you want
Know that I give good things to My children”
Jesus modifies our prayers and makes them perfect. We don’t have to be afraid to ask for what we want.

“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.” Romans 8:26

But sometimes figuring out what we really want is a process. It doesn’t mean we are double minded, it is a process. A process of expanding the desires of our hearts, our ability to ask allow ourselves to want what we really want rather than what we think we should ask for or can get.

Then God pointed out to me that He loves giving us what we ask for and doing what we ask Him to do:

Do you love giving your children what they want and what is good for them?
So does God (Matthew 7:9-11)

God actually searches us out to give us good things:

“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9 ESV

We often focus on our part which is to have a blameless heart but when we focus on God’s part….he is searching to and fro throughout the whole earth. He is actively and consistently searching for people to give strong support to…to bless…He is seeking us out!

Notice what you are asking for
Notice if you start diluting it with
caveats
ideas on how He will do it
doubts

Restore your original request
Know that God loves giving good gifts

Enjoy Him!
Rejoice!

Someone prayed for me this Sunday and it was a powerful prayer. He started the prayer time by reminding me that when we pray we are talking directly to the creator
….and He is listening.

This was such a good reminder as I can forget that prayers are not just requests going up to heaven. They are a child of the Most High King’s desires, hopes, dreams, requests being presented to the King Himself.

Be strong and courageous (Joshua 1:9)
Don’t be afraid
Ask for what you want
Children don’t attempt to ask for the perfect request. They ask for what is on their mind.
Ask for what you want
if God knows there is something better for you, He will give you that instead!
