Divine Deep Dive
A Divine Deep Dive is a great way to:
- Support a business owner facing a significant opportunity or challenge.
- Prepare a leader for their next phase of leadership (Acts 13:3)
Details:
- Gather a group of 3-5 people.
- Plan to meet in a place where people feel safe without interruptions.
- Leave plenty of time for the Holy Spirit to move. I normally plan 2 1/2 hours to be on the safe side including time to socialize at the beginning, but they can be much shorter than this.
- When we meet we start with someone in the group sharing a meaningful bible verse.
- We welcome God into the space and into the conversation, giving Him permission to work in whatever way He wants.
- Provide some background related to the business, person, challenge or opportunity. Ask for specific prayers / outcome from this conversation if desired.
- We allow the Holy Spirit to lead and what happens varies depending on the gifts of the people involved. Normally someone begins by praying briefly for the situation and everyone is silent for 30 seconds to a minute to listen to God. He may give a word, picture, bible verse, song, prayer, or a “prophetic act” for that person. Trust that God will guide the way, take risks and share things even if you aren’t 100% sure if they are from God knowing that others in the group will be able to confirm what He is sharing. This normally is how we spend the bulk of the time.
- When the prayers feel complete close in prayer thanking Him for all He shared, asking continued protection all around us, our families, and our sphere of influence.
Guidelines:
- Each person participates as much as they feel able, which varies a great deal depending on each person’s comfort level and gifting.
- It is much more powerful when we allow God to speak and do our best to moderate the natural desire to give advice or share personal experiences unless prompted by God.
- Step out in faith as He shows you new giftings and abilities!
- If you believe God is giving you something difficult to share, ask Him to confirm whether or not you are supposed to share it or simply pray into it on behalf of someone else. God most often teaches and guides us through encouragement, love, support, and wisdom. He has to correct us from time to time but it is fairly rare and it always has some sort of associated encouragement.
